Chaotic Process in The Tehran Stock Price Index [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه پژوهش‌های اقتصادی ایران, 2006
The very complex movements in the stock prices are usually taken as random or stochastic, but they may be produced by a deterministic data generating process.

Orbital effects of spatial variations of fundamental coupling constants

open access: yes, 2011
We deal with the effects induced on the orbit of a test particle revolving around a central body by putative spatial variations of fundamental coupling constants $\zeta$.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Forecasting Crude Oil Futures Prices [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه پژوهش‌های اقتصادی ایران, 2005
The movements in oil prices are complex and, therefore, seem to be unpredictable. The traditional linear structural models have not been promising when applied to forecasting, particularly in the case of complex series such as oil prices. Although linear

Dynamic density functional study of a driven colloidal particle in polymer solutions

open access: yes, 2003
The Dynamic Density Functional (DDF) theory and standard Brownian dynamics simulations (BDS) are used to study the drifting effects of a colloidal particle in a polymer solution, both for ideal and interacting polymers.

Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of a Novel Peptide Based on Anemonia sulcata BDS-I Toxin as a New KV3.4 Inhibitor Exerting a Neuroprotective Effect Against Amyloid-β Peptide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
There is increasing evidence that the fast-inactivating potassium current IA, encoded by KV3. 4 channels, plays an important role in Alzheimer's Disease (AD), since the neurotoxic β-amyloid peptide1-42 (Aβ1-42) increases the IA current triggering ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

A discontinuity in the low-mass IMF - the case of high multiplicity

open access: yes, 2008
The empirical binary properties of brown dwarfs (BDs) differ from those of normal stars suggesting BDs form a separate population. Recent work by Thies & Kroupa revealed a discontinuity of the initial mass function (IMF) in the very-low-mass star regime ...
