Computational algebra and algebraic curves [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGSAM Bulletin, 2003
The development of computational techniques in the last decade has made possible to attack some classical problems of algebraic geometry. In this survey, we briefly describe some open problems related to algebraic curves which can be approached from a computational viewpoint.

On upper modular subalgebras of a Lie algebra. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper is a further contribution to the extensive study by a number of authors of the subalgebra lattice of a Lie algebra. We give some necessary and some sufficient conditions for a subalgebra to be upper modular.

A Cartan-Eilenberg approach to Homotopical Algebra

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we propose an approach to homotopical algebra where the basic ingredient is a category with two classes of distinguished morphisms: strong and weak equivalences.

Quantum cluster algebra structures on quantum Grassmannians and their quantum Schubert cells : the finite-type cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We exhibit quantum cluster algebra structures on quantum Grassmannians and their quantum Schubert cells, as well as on , and . These cases are precisely those where the quantum cluster algebra is of finite type, and the structures we describe quantize ...

Overcoming the Nyquist Limit in Molecular Hyperspectral Imaging by Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Explorative spectral acquisition guide automatically selects informative spectral bands to optimize downstream tasks, outperforming full‐spectrum acquisition. The selected hyperspectral data are used for tasks such as unmixing and segmentation. BandOptiNet encodes selection states and outputs optimal bands to guide spectral acquisition. Recent advances

CRAMER’S RULE IN INTERVAL MIN-PLUS ALGEBRA

open access: yesBarekeng
A min-plus algebra is a set ,  where  is the set of all real numbers, equipped with the minimum  and addition  operations. The system of linear equations  in min-plus algebra can be solved using Cramer's rule.

Deep Learning Approaches for Classifying Crack States With Overload and Predicting Fatigue Parameters in a Titanium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes a deep learning approach to evaluate the fatigue crack behavior in metals under overload conditions. Using digital image correlation to capture the strain near crack tips, convolutional neural networks classify crack states as normal, overload, or recovery, and accurately predict fatigue parameters.

Double multipliers on topological algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1999
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate some topological properties of the double multiplier algebra on a topological algebra. Let Md(A) be the double multiplier algebra on a topological algebra A, and let u and s be the uniform and strong ...

Advancement in Color Image Processing using Geometric Algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper describes an advancement in color image processing, using geometric algebra. This is achieved using a compact representation of vectors within $n$ dimensional space. Geometric Algebra (GA) is a preferred framework for signal representation and
