Modeling of the Wind/Disk Outflow from Be Stars II: Formation of the Keplerian Disk
Computer modeling of the outflow from Be stars is performed. In our approach, processes of turbulence excitation and turbulent viscosity are added to the conventional model of the radiation driven winds.

A unifying explanation of complex frequency spectra of gamma Dor, SPB and Be stars: combination frequencies and highly non-sinusoidal light curves [PDF]
There are many Slowly Pulsating B (SPB) stars and γ Dor stars in the Kepler mission data set. The light curves of these pulsating stars have been classified phenomenologically into stars with symmetric light curves and with asymmetric light curves.

ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Dynamical Masses and Radiative Transfer Modeling of HD 698: A Be Binary in Evolutionary Transition
We present a detailed analysis of the early post-mass-transfer binary system HD 698 (V742 Cas), combining high-resolution optical spectroscopy, long-baseline interferometry, and radiative transfer modeling.

Evolution and appearance of Be stars in SMC clusters [PDF]
Star clusters are privileged laboratories for studying the evolution of massive stars (OB stars). One particularly interesting question concerns the phases, during which the classical Be stars occur, which unlike HAe/Be stars, are not pre-main sequence ...

ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Two Be or Not Two Be: A New Companion Detection for HD 52244 Using HST/FGS
In this paper we present a newly detected companion to the Be star, HD 52244 (B2IVnpe), using the Fine Guidance Sensors (FGS) on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). In fall 2021, HST became momentarily unavailable to support nominal operations, and we used
