砕波帯相似パラメーターで近似される, 波の砕波区分図を用いて, ビーチサイクルにおける波の波形勾配とビーチフェイス勾配の関係のモデル的な考察を試みた。ビーチフェイス勾配の経験式より, 波の周期および底質粒径を一定とすると, 沖波波高が大きくなれば, ビーチフェイス勾配は小さくなり, 沖波波高が小さくなるとビーチフェイス勾配は大きくなる。この関係は, 砕波区分図上で, 反時計回りのループとして表すことができる。また, 砕波帯相似パラメーターにより, 砕波型式, 波の反射率, 相対打ち上げ高さが, ビーチサイクルに関連付けられる。
