Beach nourishment impacts on the beach profile
2016The Delaware coast has been nourished since the early 1960s as a countermeasure for the eroding pattern that is observed on most of Delaware beaches. The beaches that were nourished are Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick Island. Beach users have reported that nourishment projects affected the beach morphology and resulted in different ...

A respectable amount of information has been accumulated, both from laboratory studies and field measurements, with regard to the nature of beach profile changes and the physical factors that cause the profile changes. The models which deal with onshore-offshore sediment transport and profile changes are not numerous. D. H.

Evolution of Gravel Beach Profiles
Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, 2011An experiment was conducted in a wave flume to examine the processes of gravel beach profile evolution under irregular waves. Two erosion tests were performed on a steep slope of 1/2 with two different significant wave heights. An accretion test was conducted on a mild slope of 1/5 until its profile became quasi-equilibrium.

Beach profile change at St. Clair beach, Dunedin
1994This thesis examines the nature of changes that occur within the beach profile at St. Clair Dunedin on the south coast of the Otago Peninsula. The profile changes are linked to variations in the wave and wind environments, and the results are compared to both previous local work and to the relevant theory and models accepted in the literature.

Beach profiles and sediment activity
2010A study of beach profiles and sediment activity has been undertaken investigating natural beaches of inner coastal southwest British Columbia and published data on laboratory beaches. Two separate types of sediment activity are focused upon: longshore sediment, activity occurring on inner coast beaches and on- offshore sediment activity occurring on ...
