A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Predictive Modelling of Weld Bead Geometry in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
This study investigates the predictive modelling of weld bead geometry in wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) through advanced machine learning methods. While WAAM is valued for its ability to produce large, complex metal parts with high deposition rates, precise control of the weld bead remains a critical challenge due to its influence on ...

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
