Beam-Beam Instability in Case of Strong-Weak Beam-Beam Interactions
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003Beam‐beam effects in HERA were studied with a self‐consistent beam‐beam simulation by using the particle‐in‐cell method. A remarkable agreement between the experimental measurement and the simulation result was observed on the emittance growth, luminosity reduction, and coherent beam‐beam tune shifts.

Luminosity and the beam-beam interaction
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2001The beam-beam interaction is a strong nonlinear force and ultimately limits the luminosity performance of a colliding beam accelerator. The beam dynamics resulting from the beam-beam force has many aspects and is still under active investigation.

Noise instability in nonlinear beam-beam interaction
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1998Abstract Diffusion instability of a beam induced by random fluctuations in the size of an opposite colliding beam has been studied. It is shown, that the considered beam-beam configuration is always unstable at any value of beam-beam tune shift, if two conditions are valid: (i) beam-beam kick is a nonlinear function of coordinate and (ii) beam-beam ...

Beam-beam interaction simulations of the SSC
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1991The beam‐beam interaction at the collision point is studied using the particle‐in cell method for the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). This model consists of the symplectic map of the magnets that lie between collision points and the self‐consistent treatment of the interactions of many particles at the collision point.

Beam-beam interaction in linear collider
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2001Beam-beam interaction at the collision point of future e+e− linear colliders imposes strong constraints on the collider parameters. The expected phenomena include bunch deformation due to the Coulomb force, synchrotron radiation (beamstrahlung), coherent pair creation, and incoherent processes. These topics are very briefly summarized.

Effect of noise in beam-beam interaction
Proceedings of the 1997 Particle Accelerator Conference (Cat. No.97CH36167), 2002Beam-beam instability induced by random fluctuations in size of a strong beam has been studied both numerically and analytically. In contrast with stochastic particle motion due to overlapping of nonlinear beam-beam resonance islands, noise beam-beam instability exists at any value of beam-beam parameter.

Laser–particle interactions in shaped beams: Beam power normalization
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2013Abstract We present a semi-analytic theory for calculating light–particle interactions in shaped laser beams even when the paraxial beam description is invalid. It requires weighting the expressions for the cross sections with a beam normalization parameter, ϰ , associated with the incident power.

Satellite Resonances Due to Beam-Beam Interaction
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1977Experimental and theoretical investigations have shown that the luminosity of the storage ring DORIS is limited by betatron-synchrotron resonances which are produced by the beam-beam interaction. The resonance frequencies are given by Qsa=(p+rQs)/q, where p, q, r are integers and Qs and Qs are the betatron and synchrotron wave numbers, respectively. It
