Shear strengthening of beam-column joints
Engineering Structures, 2002Shear failure of beam-column joints is identified as the principal cause of collapse of many moment-resisting frame buildings during recent earthquakes. Effective and economical rehabilitation techniques for the upgrade of the joint shear-resistance capacity in existing structures are needed.

Computers & Structures, 2000Abstract To improve the accuracy of finite element modeling of concrete frame structures, a new beam–solid transition element with refined characteristics is introduced. The refinement capability in this approach provides an accurate strain field approximation in the regions of high shear forces of beam and columns.
