Atomic matter wave scanner [PDF]
We report on the experimental realization of an atom optical device, that allows scanning of an atomic beam. We used a time-modulated evanescent wave field above a glass surface to diffract a continuous beam of metastable Neon atoms at grazing incidence.

Beam monitor calibration in scanned light‐ion beams
PurposeTo propose a formalism for the reference dosimetry of scanned light‐ion beams consistent with IAEA TRS‐398 and Alfonsoet al.[Med. Phys.35, 5179–5186 (2008)]. To identify machine‐specific reference (msr) fields and plan‐class specific reference (pcsr) fields consistent with the definitions given by Alfonsoet al.To review the literature of beam ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
