Monte Carlo Beam Search [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in Games, 2012
Monte Carlo tree search is the state of the art for multiple games and for solving puzzles such as Morpion Solitaire. Nested Monte Carlo (NMC) search is a Monte Carlo tree search algorithm that works well for solving puzzles. We propose to enhance NMC search with beam search. We test the algorithm on Morpion Solitaire.

Adaptive Beam Search Decoding for Discrete Keyphrase Generation

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2021
Keyphrase Generation compresses a document into some highly-summative phrases, which is an important task in natural language processing. Most state-of-the-art adopt greedy search or beam search decoding methods.

Streaming Transformer Asr With Blockwise Synchronous Beam Search

open access: yesSpoken Language Technology Workshop, 2020
The Transformer self-attention network has shown promising performance as an alternative to recurrent neural networks in end-to-end (E2E) automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. However, Transformer has a drawback in that the entire input sequence is

Photoproduction of $WH$ signal at electron-proton Colliders

open access: yes, 1994
We present the photoproduction of an intermediate mass Higgs (IMH) boson associated with a $W$ boson at the future electron-proton colliders using bremsstrahlung photon beam or laser backscattered photon beam.

Keyphrase Enhanced Diverse Beam Search: A Content-Introducing Approach to Neural Text Generation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Neural text generation has been a challenging task, among which the text representation and the beam search are crucial techniques. By improving these techniques, we propose a novel model to generate texts of higher quality in this paper.

Pruning State Spaces with Extended Beam Search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
State space explosion is still the main problem in the area of model checking. This paper focuses on using beam search, a heuristic search algorithm, for pruning state spaces while generating. Original beam search is adapted to the state space generation setting and two new variants, motivated by some practical case studies, are devised.

Rectangle Search: An Anytime Beam Search (Extended Version)

open access: yes, 2023
Anytime heuristic search algorithms try to find a (potentially suboptimal) solution as quickly as possible and then work to find better and better solutions until an optimal solution is obtained or time is exhausted. The most widely-known anytime search algorithms are based on best-first search.
