The effect of multi‐leaf collimator leaf width on VMAT treatment plan quality
Abstract Background The advent of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in radiotherapy has made it one of the most commonly used techniques in clinical practice. VMAT is the delivery of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) while the gantry is in motion, and existing literature has shown it has decreased treatment delivery times and the ...

Beam Dynamics Simulation for the CTF3 Drive-Beam Accelerator [PDF]
A new CLIC Test Facility (CTF3) at CERN will serve to study the drive beam generation for the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). CTF3 has to accelerate a 3.5 A electron beam in almost fully-loaded structures. The pulse contains more than 2000 bunches, one in every second RF bucket, and has a length of more than one microsecond.

Abstract Purpose Cardiac motion may degrade dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation using the CyberKnife system, a robotic radiosurgery system. This study evaluated the dose distribution changes using a self‐made cardiac dynamic platform that mimics cardiac motion. Methods The cardiac dynamic platform was operated with amplitudes

Learning Beam Search Policies via Imitation Learning [PDF]
Beam search is widely used for approximate decoding in structured prediction problems. Models often use a beam at test time but ignore its existence at train time, and therefore do not explicitly learn how to use the beam. We develop an unifying meta-algorithm for learning beam search policies using imitation learning.

Multi‐institutional study on image quality for a novel CBCT solution on O‐ring linac
Abstract Introduction This work presents a multi‐institutional study on image quality provided by a novel cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The main goal is to investigate the consistency of imaging performance across multiple institutions.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the dose‐exposure reduction effect of a crystalline lens with a bismuth eye shield using cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) for head image‐guided radiation therapy. The ocular surface dose of the head phantom (THRA‐1) is defined as a crystalline lens exposure dose and is measured using a radiophotoluminescence ...

Abstract Background Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) requires an accurate patient‐specific quality assurance (PSQA) program. In clinical practice, this is usually performed using the γ‐index and the two‐dimensional gamma passing rate (2D %GP). A three‐dimensional (3D) index incorporating the patient anatomy could be more useful for the 3D dose ...

Abstract Background To investigate the effect of bladder volume (BV) and bladder shape on consistency and treatment interruption in prostate cancer radiotherapy (RT). Methods A total of 275 patients who underwent radical prostate cancer RT in our institution from April 2015 to December 2022 were enrolled.
