Structured beam diffraction

Optics Letters, 2016
We report on the observation of a modulated pattern induced by a single laser beam in a polymeric film. In spite of the simple geometrical configuration, the analysis of the far field diffraction pattern allows a sensitive retrieving of the wavelength of the recording beam and of its incidence angle, pointing out the high information content of the ...

Customizing non-diffracting structured beams

Optics Letters, 2023
We demonstrate a universal approach to designing and generating non-diffracting structured light beams with arbitrary shapes. Such light beams can be tailored by predefining suitable spectral phases that match the corresponding beam shapes in the transverse plane.

Experimental study of reducing beam wander by modulating the coherence structure of structured light beams

Optics Letters, 2019
We study the beam wander of a class of structured light beams, Hermite-Gaussian correlated Schell-model (HGCSM) beams, in theory and in experiment. It is found that modulating the coherence structure of a structured light beam can reduce the turbulence-induced beam wander, i.e., a HGCSM beam with larger mode orders or lower coherence experiences ...

A study on structural analysis of composite beam structure

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021
Abstract The active damping of structures is an important emerging field. In this context, it is necessary to be able to develop new control methods for flexible structures and simulate their effects. In order to be able to deal with the optimization of active device locations, spill over and any other general problems linked to control and model ...

Truss and Beam Structures

2021
The presentation of the finite element method starts in this chapter with the explanation of the finite element method for truss and beam systems. The concept of stiffness matrices is shown first for a simple truss element. The procedure for setting up the equations for a finite element analysis is explained exemplary for a simple truss system.

Optical binding and the influence of beam structure

Optics Letters, 2008
An optically induced interparticle potential, applicable to particles of any shape, is derived in a formulation that accommodates the effects of beam structure. The theory allows the consideration of optical binding interactions in beams of spatially varying irradiance and polarization.

Structuring Erlang BEAM control flow

Proceedings of the 16th ACM SIGPLAN International Workshop on Erlang, 2017
As source code dependencies are usually stored in some precompiled executable representation like bytecode, static analysis frameworks for high-level languages have to be specifically adapted so they can meaningfully analyse these libraries too. This adaptation is not trivial, since compilation is in general not injective, the semantics of low-level ...

Beam shifts to reflected light beams and their axial structure

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
The similarities and differences of spatial shifts to the centroids of reflected beams, and their (optical vortex) structure are discussed and reviewed. The differences between vortex-induced shifts to a beam centroid on reflection, and to the distribution of the vortices themselves is discussed. We conclude by discussing the shifts of a reflected beam

Beam-Plasma Structures at Propagation of Electron Beams in Plasma

Physica Scripta, 1998
In the frame of the theory of weak turbulence the propagation of electron beams is considered. Using the smallness of quasilinear time transition from kinetic equations to gas-dynamic ones has been done. The obtained gas-dynamic equations are solved for one, two and N monoenergetic beams. It is shown that each beam generally propagates as a beam-plasma
