Structured beams invariant to coherent diffusion

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
Bessel beams are renowned members of a wide family of non-diffracting (propagation-invariant) fields. We report on experiments showing that non-diffracting fields are also immune to diffusion. We map the phase and magnitude of structured laser fields onto the spatial coherence between two internal states of warm atoms undergoing diffusion.

Viscous damage model for timoshenko beam structures [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Solids and Structures, 1997
A local damage constitutive model based on Kachanov’s theory is used within a finite element frame and applied to the case of 2D and 3D Timoshenko beam elements. The model takes into account viscous effects, thus allowing damping to be considered in a rigorous way.

Electron-beam patterned calibration structures for structured illumination microscopy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
AbstractSuper-resolution fluorescence microscopy can be achieved by image reconstruction after spatially patterned illumination or sequential photo-switching and read-out. Reconstruction algorithms and microscope performance are typically tested using simulated image data, due to a lack of strategies to pattern complex fluorescent patterns with ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Analysis of Strengths of Reinforced Concrete Beam Structures with CFRP Sheet Using Abaqus Software 6.14

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan, 2019
. Concrete beams are parts of a structure that serves as a channeling moment to the column structure. The structure of the beam which has undergone yielding reinforcement must be repaired.

Multi-structured-beam optical parametric oscillator

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
Structured beams, conventionally generated through the spatial mode conversion of the Gaussian laser beams, have attracted great interest in recent years. Optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) have demonstrated the potential for the generation of tunable structured beams directly from an input pump source.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Lengthwise Crack Study of a Beam with Non-Linear Creep

open access: yesEngineering Transactions
An analytical study of the strain energy release rate for an inhomogeneous beam structure with a lengthwise crack subjected to non-linear creep is developed. The beam is inhomogeneous along its length.

Astigmatic-Invariant Structured Singular Beams

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
We investigate the transformation of structured Laguerre–Gaussian (sLG) beams after passing through a cylindrical lens. The resulting beam, ab astigmatic structured Laguerre–Gaussian (asLG) beam, depends on quantum numbers (n,ℓ) and three parameters. Two of them are control parameters of the initial sLG beam, the amplitude ϵ and phase θ.
