Constellation Precoded Beamforming [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We present and analyze the performance of constellation precoded beamforming. This multi-input multi-output transmission technique is based on the singular value decomposition of a channel matrix. In this work, the beamformer is precoded to improve its diversity performance.

Blind Interference Suppression with Uncalibrated Phased-Array Processing [PDF]

open access: yesSensors
As the number of devices using wireless communications increases, the amount of usable radio frequency spectrum becomes increasingly congested. As a result, the need for robust, adaptive communications to improve spectral efficiency and ensure reliable ...

Robust Capon beamforming

open access: bronzeConference Record of the Thirty-Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2002., 2003
The Capon beamformer has better resolution and much better interference rejection capability than the standard (data-independent) beamformer, provided that the array steering vector corresponding to the signal of interest (SOI) is accurately known. However, whenever the knowledge of the SOI steering vector is imprecise (as is often the case in practice)

Hybrid Beamforming in Massive MIMO for Next-Generation Communication Technology

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Hybrid beamforming is a viable method for lowering the complexity and expense of massive multiple-input multiple-output systems while achieving high data rates on track with digital beamforming.

Machine Learning-Based Beamforming in K-User MISO Interference Channels

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, we consider a K-user multiple-input and single-output interference channel and propose a machine learning-based beamforming design. To circumvent the difficulties of beamforming design in interference channels, we consider a beamforming ...

Orthogonal Versus Zero-Forced Beamforming in Multibeam Antenna Systems: Review and Challenges for Future Wireless Networks

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves, 2021
Orthogonality in multibeam antennas is revisited. The difference between orthogonal beamforming and zero-forced beamforming is highlighted. The intriguing relation between orthogonality, reciprocity and losses is recapitulated.

Minimum Processing Beamforming [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, 2021
Most of the well-known classic beamformers have resulted from optimization problems that minimize a cost function such as the mean-square error (MSE) between the noisy speech and a reference clean speech. The rationale behind these formulations involves a speech-versus-noise dichotomy, where anything branded as noise shall be suppressed as much as ...

Assessment of multi-target distinguishing using deconvolved conventional beamforming [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Multi-target distinguishing based on beamforming is a popular topic in array signal processing. Conventional beamforming as a frequently used method is robust but constrained by the Rayleigh limit.

Changes in functional connectivity in newly diagnosed self‐limited epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes and cognitive impairment: An MEG study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Our purpose was to explore the relationship between cognitive impairment and neural network changes in patients newly diagnosed with self‐limited epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes (SeLECTS). Methods The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, fourth edition was used to divide all SeLECTS patients into two groups: patients with full‐

Mapping Interictal activity in epilepsy using a hidden Markov model: A magnetoencephalography study

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 44, Issue 1, Page 66-81, January 2023., 2023
In this study, we use hidden Markov modeling (HMM) to create a unique statistical model of interictal brain activity for 10 pediatric epilepsy patients. This data‐driven model produces an output unique to each patient, and is used to localize the epileptogenic area(s).
