In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Interfacial stress analysis and strengh prediction of plated rc beams [PDF]
Strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) beams by external plate bonding (EPB) technique has become very popular for the last two decades, especially in the past few years with the increasing applications of the advanced composites.

Strengthening prestressed beams using parafil ropes as external tendons [PDF]
Many bridges in the world are classified as deficient and in need of rehabilitation or replacement. Some of them are deficient because their load-carrying capacity is inadequate for today's increased traffic load. To improve their efficiency and increase

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Cracking and tension field action in composite beams [PDF]
Two aspects of the behaviour of uncased composite 'T' beams of steel and concrete are considered. Flexural cracking in the reinforced concrete slab was studied by subjecting seven 350-mm deep composite beams to hogging bending moment.

Laser-Cooled Ion Beams and Strongly Coupled Plasmas for Precision Experiments [PDF]
The first part of this thesis summarizes the results of laser-cooling of relativistic C3+ ion beams at the ESR/GSI. It is shown that laser cooling at high beam energies is feasible and that momentum spreads much smaller than those observed for electron ...

Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...
