Higher-order moments and overlaps of Cartesian beams [PDF]
We introduce a closed-form expression for the overlap between two different Cartesian beams. In the course of obtaining this expression, we establish a linear relation between the overlap of circular beams with azimuthal symmetry and the overlap of ...

Coherent beam-beam interaction with four colliding beams [PDF]
The coherent beam-beam interaction in the absence of Landau damping is studied with a computer simulation of four space-charge-compensated colliding beams. Results are presented for the modes, phase space structures, widths, and growth rates of coherent beam-beam resonances.

Propagation-invariant beams with quantum pendulum spectra: from Bessel beams to Gaussian beam-beams [PDF]
We describe a new class of propagation-invariant light beams with Fourier transform given by an eigenfunction of the quantum mechanical pendulum. These beams, whose spectra (restricted to a circle) are doubly-periodic Mathieu functions in azimuth, depend

Simulation of the beam halo from the beam-beam interaction [PDF]
A technique for simulating the beam halo in circular ${\mathit{e}}^{+}$${\mathit{e}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$ colliders is introduced, tested, and applied. Amplitude space is divided into core and halo regions, and only halo particles are tracked saving a factor of 100 or more in CPU time.

Beam-Beam Simulations for Double-Gaussian Beams [PDF]
Electron cooling together with intra-beam scattering results in a transverse distribution that can best be described by a sum of two gaussians, one for the high-density core and one for the tails of the distribution [1]. Simulation studies are being performed to understand the beam-beam interaction of these double-gaussian beams.

Influence of section depth on the structural behaviour of reinforced concrete continuous deep beams [PDF]
YesAlthough the depth of reinforced concrete deep beams is much higher than that of slender beams, extensive existing tests on deep beams have focused on simply supported beams with a scaled depth below 600 mm.

Paroxysmal hemicrania as the clinical presentation of giant cell arteritis
Head pain is the most common complaint in patients with giant cell arteritis but the headache has no distinct diagnostic features. There have been no published reports of giant cell arteritis presenting as a trigeminal autonomic cephalalgia.

Effect of Wire-Mesh Type on Strengthening Reinforced Concrete Beams [PDF]
Structural strengthening is a method of application to raise the load-ability capacity of building structures to meet the building's need to carry additional and unexpected loads that were not accounted for in the main design. In this study, Ferro-cement
