Characterization of Bean common mosaic virus and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus isolates in common bean growing areas in Turkey

European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2016
Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus (BCMNV) are well-known legume-infecting potyviruses. The incidences of BCMV and BCMNV infections were determined by ELISA in 367 seed and leaf samples which were collected in 15 common bean-growing provinces of Turkey.

Differentiation of strains of bean common mosaic virus

Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology, 1978
Pathogenicity and symptom expression of seventeen described isolates of bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and five previously unreported isolates were compared on many bean cultivars (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). From these cultivars, a standard set of differentials were assigned to nine groups with different disease reactions.

Bean common mosaic virus reduces ozone sensitivity of pinto bean

Environmental Pollution (1970), 1975
Abstract Bean common mosaic virus infection reduced the sensitivity of pinto bean to ozone (O3) damage. Immature primary leaves inoculated with the virus five days prior to exposure with 0·25 ppm (0·49 mg/m3) O3 for 4 h showed less O3 injury than the non-infected control plants.

Bean Common Mosaic Virus and Bean Common Mosaic Necrosis Virus Infections in Bean Production Areas in The Lakes Region of Turkey

2020

Pyramiding genes for resistance to bean common mosaic virus

Euphytica, 1995
Gene pyramiding in Phaseolus vulgaris is being utilized to develop more effective resistance to the temperature-insensitive-necrosis-inducing (TINI) strains of Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV) present in the USA. Our data indicate that contrary to previous work, the bc-3 gene is effective against these strains in the absence of the strain unspecific bc ...

Distribution and localization of bean common mosaic virus and bean black root virus in stems of doubly infected bean plants

Archives of Virology, 1994
Plants of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) inoculated first on one primary leaf with strain NY15 of bean common mosaic virus, as inducer, and after three days, on the opposite leaf, with the strain NL3 of bean black root virus, as challenger, did not show systemic necrosis characteristic of the latter strain.

BIOLOGICAL AND MOLECULAR CHARACTERISTICS OF BEAN COMMON MOSAIC VIRUS ISOLATES CIRCULATING IN COMMON BEAN IN IRAN

Journal of Plant Pathology, 2016
Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) is one of the most widespread and economically important seed and aphid-transmitted viruses. During 2010-2011, a total of 2410 symptomatic bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) leaf samples were collected from nine provinces of Iran and checked by DAS-ELISA (double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunsorbent assay), resulting in ...
