Divergent exploratory‐avoidant behavioural strategies may drive niche differentiation in juvenile Antarctic fishes

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract We used an ecological niche theory framework integrating physiological and behavioural ecology to understand interspecific differentiation of juveniles of four Antarctic fishes: Trematomus bernacchii, Trematomus pennellii, Trematomus nicolai and Pagothenia borchgrevinki.

Theoretical and computation modelling of polymer seal life [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Elastomer seals are widely used in the petroleum industry. Seal failure can be very expensive, due to losses in production and high maintenance costs.

Continuous darkness is associated with improved growth performance during a high‐temperature period and sex‐specific modulation of early gonadal development in juvenile yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Selective breeding of yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata) is expanding in Japan, increasing the demand for practical reproductive control tools in commercial aquaculture to reduce genetic risks from escapees. Slowing early gonadal development through environmental manipulation may support future sterilization strategies, particularly when ...

Cumulative effects of lifelong systemic excess growth hormone on postcranial skeletal morphology in adult mice

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Our μCT‐based pilot study reveals size and shape disparity in the adult postcranial skeleton of growth‐hormone model (bGH) mice relative to wild‐type mice. bGH mice have larger and more sexually dimorphic bones, with a systemic radiodensity increase in bony sesamoids and associated, but typically uncalcified, soft tissues.

The Great Temporal Divide: How Top Management Team Temporal Faultlines and Dominant Subgroups Shape Firm Innovativeness in Iran

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract While executives vary in attention to the past, present, and future, prior work has largely examined these temporal orientations in isolation or at the individual level, which limits insight into how they jointly configure within top management teams (TMTs) and translate into firm behaviours.

The Paradox of Threat: Vernacular Security Governance Among Jewish and Muslim Minorities in Four European States

open access: yesJournal for the Scientific Study of Religion, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How do religious minorities proactively manage their safety amid global crises and local hostility? This article examines these dynamics, conceptualized as “vernacular security governance,” among Jewish and Muslim populations in four European states.

Plant genetic and root‐associated microbial diversity modulate Lactuca sativa responsiveness to a soil inoculum under phosphate deficiency

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Leaf phosphate and shoot biomass variation in response to the microbial consortium. Summary Microbial‐based approaches offer a promising strategy to decrease the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture. Among them, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), which extend root surface area and enhance phosphate uptake, and phosphate‐solubilizing bacteria ...
