Simple yet stable bearing‐only navigation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, 2010
AbstractThis article describes a simple monocular navigation system for a mobile robot based on the map‐and‐replay technique. The presented method is robust and easy to implement and does not require sensor calibration or structured environment, and its computational complexity is independent of the environment size.

Adaptive Fusion of Inertial Navigation System and Tracking Radar Data [PDF]

open access: yesAUT Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2016
Against the range-dependent accuracy of the tracking radar measurements including range, elevation and bearing angles, a new hybrid adaptive Kalman filter is proposed to enhance the performance of the radar aided strapdown inertial navigation system (INS/

An Iterative Guidance and Navigation Algorithm for Orbit Rendezvous of Cooperating CubeSats

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Modern space missions often require satellites to perform guidance, navigation, and control tasks autonomously. Despite their limited resources, small satellites are also involved in this trend, as in-orbit rendezvous and docking maneuvers and formation ...

Single-hydrophone bearing estimation for long-range underwater navigation [PDF]

open access: yesJASA Express Letters
Beacon acoustic sources can aid long-range underwater navigation since using an inertial navigation system alone becomes inaccurate over long duration. Here, estimates of the relative position of a single hydrophone mounted on a small underwater platform

Avoiding negative depth in inverse depth bearing-only SLAM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we consider ways to alleviate negative estimated depth for the inverse depth parameterisation of bearing-only SLAM. This problem, which can arise even if the beacons are far from the platform, can cause catastrophic failure of the filter. We

Precision of navigated and conventional open-wedge high tibial osteotomy in a cadaver study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2010
High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is an established treatment option for isolated medial osteoarthritis in young and active patients. One important factor for success of this procedure is the degree of correction of the weight-bearing line.

A Calibration Method of Underwater Transponder Position Based on Maximum Correntropy

open access: yes水下无人系统学报, 2023
The ultra-short baseline(USBL) positioning system is widely used in the integrated navigation and positioning of underwater vehicles. Knowing the precise position of the transponder is a prerequisite for the application of the USBL system for navigation ...
