Abstract The doubly fed induction generator is commonly used in commercial wind turbines because of its simplicity and robustness; it is a wound rotor induction machine. It has a relatively small airgap which makes it more vulnerable to unbalanced magnetic pull.

Abstract Due to the dual air‐gap topology of the direct‐drive permanent magnet motor with inner enhance force (IEF‐DDPMM), the radial EM exciting force generated in the inner and outer air gaps when the rotor is eccentric will act on the same rotor, and the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) on the rotor will reduce the fatigue life of the rotor structure ...

Modeling and Realization of a Bearingless Flux-Switching Slice Motor
This work introduces a novel bearingless slice motor design: the bearingless flux-switching slice motor. In contrast to state-of-the-art bearingless slice motors, the rotor in this new design does not include any permanent rotor magnets.

In this paper, an intelligent neural network‐based controller is designed and implemented to control the speed of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). First, the exact mathematical model of PMSM is presented, and then, by designing a controller, we apply the wind turbine emulation challenges.

A novel traction AC motor is proposed by grouping magnets and coils in the stator design with aluminium as substantial for the housing of stator and end ring. The stator back iron is designed with silicon steel. As a result, the magnet can provide more repulsion when revolving the rotor, lowering the input side current.

Design and Analysis of Asymmetric Rotor Pole Type Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor
Bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) not only combines the merits of bearingless motor (BM) and switched reluctance motor (SRM), but also decreases the vibration and acoustic noise of SRM, so it could be a strong candidate for high-speed driving ...

Performance Benchmarking of a Novel Magnet-Free Bearingless Synchronous Reluctance Slice Motor
This paper presents a novel bearingless synchronous reluctance slice motor topology that contains no permanent magnets. The rotor with two iron poles and flux barriers is levitated and rotated through a stator winding system with six coils wired as two ...

The stator of the stepped rotor type bearingless switched reluctance motor has two kinds of wide and narrow stator teeth. The wide stator teeth provide suspension force, and the narrow stator teeth provide torque, so the decoupling control of torque and ...
