Mathematical modeling of a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor

COMPEL: The International Journal for Computation and Mathematics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
Purpose – The novel bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) is proposed recently, which is different from the conventional BSRM in the stator structure and suspension winding arrangement. The reduced number of suspension windings makes the novel BSRM much simpler, so that the control circuit and algorithm are ...

A novel permanent magnet biased bearingless switched reluctance motor

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
In order to solve the coupling problem between torque and suspending force control in the conventional bearingless switched reluctance motor, a novel permanent magnet biased bearingless switched reluctance motor structure is proposed in this paper. Its configuration and working principle are introduced.

Modeling and control of novel bearingless switched reluctance motor

2009 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2009
In order to solve problems of taking traditional mechanical bearing to bear the shaft, a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor with hybrid stator poles is proposed in this paper. The rotor needs only one bearing for rotating and constraining the axial movement. The other end can move freely in the radial direction.

A novel 6/4 conical bearingless switched reluctance motor

2015 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2015
Generally the conventional bearingless switched reluctance motors (BSRMs) need to work with magnetic bearings to realize the active control of five-Degrees Of Freedom (5-DOF) of the rotating part. However, this kind of structure increases the total cost and reduces overall efficiency of the 5-DOF suspension system.

Suspension Performances Analysis of A Novel Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor

2020 IEEE International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices (ASEMD), 2020
In this paper, a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) is proposed, in which the independent torque magnetic circuit and torque magnetic circuit are adopted. The natural decoupling between the suspension force and torque are obtained. Firstly, the configuration and suspension principle are introduced, respectively.

Levitation Performances Analysis of a Novel Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2021
To deal with the coupling between the levitation force and torque, a new bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) is presented in the paper, in which the torque flux is separated with the levitation flux. In addition, due to the low cost and power of the three-phase power converter, the radial levitation of the proposed BSRM is driven by a three ...

Effect of rotor eccentricity in bearingless switched reluctance motor

2018 Technologies for Smart-City Energy Security and Power (ICSESP), 2018
The paper present the modeling and cramming the 12/14 BSRM. The study of Static, Dynamic and Mixed eccentricity is done by using Infloytica MagNet software. The analysis of Flux Distribution at different eccentricity percentage is carried out, severity of Fault is discussed.

Design procedure of bearingless high-speed switched reluctance motors

SPEEDAM 2010, 2010
This paper focuses on the design of bearingless high-speed switched reluctance motors with single layer windings based on their special characteristics, which are different from normal switched reluctance motors and other types of bearingless motors. The design begins with calculating magnetic air gap considering influences of eccentric forces.

Optimal Winding Arrangements of a Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2008
Winding arrangements of a bearingless switched reluctance motor strongly influence the operation state of its power converters so much as the rotation and levitation of the motor. This paper proposes some optimal winding arrangements, which suit for a three-phase half-bridge converter or a three-phase four-leg converter. First, the optimal main winding
