Design and analysis of a new bearingless switched reluctance motor

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2023
A bearingless switched motor with permanent magnets in the stator yoke (BSRM-PMSY) with two sets of windings on each stator tooth pole is studied. The current in one set of windings mainly controls the motor torque, and rotor suspension can be realised by adjusting the current in the other set of windings.

Current delta control for conical bearingless switched reluctance motors

2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018
The rotor of the conical bearingless switched reluctance motor can be fully levitated and rotate at the same time without magnetic bearings. This paper proposes a novel control method for this type of motors. By reconstructing the winding currents as three different components, the five-axes positions and rotor angular velocity can be regulated by the ...

The Study of Switched Reluctance Motor for 4-DOF Bearingless Motor

Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology, 2019
High integration, low loss and high-reliability are the main development trends of flywheel battery. Thus this study presents the first prototype of a novel high-integration four degrees of freedom (4-DOF) bearingless motor with the advantages of weak coupling and low power consumption.

A Novel Mathematic Model of Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motors

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Radial weight and rotary torque load often demand large winding current in a bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM). This will tend to cause magnetic saturation. But traditional mathematic model can not fit for this saturated working state, which has formatted a sever limitation.

A Novel Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor and its Control Method

2018 IEEE International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition (PEAC), 2018
To achieve the decoupling control of the electromagnet torque and suspension force in bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM), a novel single-winding BSRM with hybrid rotor is proposed (HRBSRM). The HRBSRM is composed of a 12-tooth stator and a hybrid rotor consisting of an 8-tooth salient part and a cylindrical part. Based on virtual displacement

Optimization of suspending force for novel bearingless switched reluctance motor

2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015
Bearingless switched reluctance motor (SRM) has been a hot research topic for recent years. As the suspending force is important to bearingless SRM, optimization of suspending force for novel permanent magnet biased bearingless SRM is proposed in this paper.

A new flux-linkage model for bearingless switched reluctance motor

2009 International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices, 2009
Accurate calculation of the flux linkage characteristics is the basis of design and control of bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM). In this paper, flux linkage of main-and suspended windings for a BSRM were calculated by using 3D finite element method (FEM).

Design and Analysis of Modular Permanent Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor

2020 23rd International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2020
In order to increase structure compactness, critical rotor speed and output torque of existing 12/12 bearingless switched reluctance motor(BSRM) with axial biased permanent magnet(PM), an improved modular permanent magnet bearingless switched reluctance motor(PM-BSRM) is comprehensively investigated.

Iron loss characteristic for the novel bearingless switched reluctance motor

2013 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2013
In this paper, the core loss characteristic of a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor is investigated. Firstly, the basic structure and principle of the proposed motor is presented. Furthermore, a core loss model is introduced in which flux density waveforms in the different parts of the motor are predicted by means of finite element analysis ...

Performance Characteristics of one Novel Switched Reluctance Bearingless Motor Drive

2007 Power Conversion Conference - Nagoya, 2007
Super high-speed and high-power electric machines are required for turbomolecular pumps and spindle drives. High rotational speed and high power drives can be achieved with bearingless motors. In the paper a novel switched reluctance bearingless motor (SRBM) with principles of traditional switched reluctance motors is proposed and its performance ...
