Vibrational mode selectivity in hyperfine interactions: Polarization quantum beat spectroscopy of HCF(Ã1A″)

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004
We report on the vibrational mode dependence of the F19 and H1 hyperfine interaction constants in the Ã1A″ state of HCF, determined using polarization quantum beat spectroscopy. The nuclear spin/overall rotation coupling constants display a pronounced energy dependence and mode selectivity which can be traced to variations in both the A rotational ...

Dual-mode type algorithm for chatter detection in turning considering beat vibration

2019 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2019
The self-excited chatter is a complex dynamic behavior of the cutting process, which results in severe damage to the machining system. Therefore, an effective approach to chatter detection is critical for preventing adverse effects caused by chatter.

Femtosecond coherent anti-Stokes Raman beats between vibration modes in PVA film

2011 International Quantum Electronics Conference (IQEC) and Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) Pacific Rim incorporating the Australasian Conference on Optics, Lasers and Spectroscopy and the Australian Conference on Optical Fibre Technology, 2011
We have performed femtosecond time-resolved coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) to study the vibrational dynamics of Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film. We observed CARS signal beats between vibrational modes in PVA and measured the coherent vibrational relaxation rates of CH and OH stretch modes.

First-Order Nonlinear Pseudo-Beat Vibration Model Identification of High Rise Buildings

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
With vibration amplitude increasing, the super high-rise building appears obvious pseudo-beat vibration under the combination of vortex-induced force and nonlinear damping force. Therefore, based on Scanlan nonlinear empirical model the first-order nonlinear pseudo-beat vibration responses of the super high-rise building are deduced with KBM method ...

Collective beating of molecular vibrations in liquids on the picosecond time scale

Optics Communications, 1976
Abstract A beating phenomenon due to the coherent superposition of vibrational states of different isotopes is observed by the use of delayed probe pulses. The dephasing time of a single isotope component is measured by a selective k -vector geometry.

Linear and nonlinear energy harvesters for powering pacemakers from heart beat vibrations

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Linear and nonlinear piezoelectric devices are introduced to continuously recharge the batteries of the pacemakers by converting the vibrations from the heartbeats to electrical energy. The power requirement of the pacemakers is very low. At the same time, after about 10 years from the original implantation of the pacemakers, patients have to go ...
