Journal of Feminist Family Therapy, 2013Through the narratives of three female therapists from Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey, this manuscript aims to describe how the standards of beauty are shaped in the Western World, how they get transmitted to other cultures through colonialism and media, and how they subsequently impact beauty ideals globally.
