Advanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 11, Issue 32, November 14, 2024.This work provides mechanistic insight into the effects of surface topography and composition and thermoflluidic conditions on crystallization fouling. In situ optical and heat transfer characterization are used to identify a novel mechanism of surface degassing and bubble formation that enhances fouling through locally elevated supersaturations.
