Bed Load Transport Modelling Using Kinetic Theory
Intense transport of bed load is associated with highconcentrated sediment-laden flow over a plane mobile bed at high bed shear. Typically, the flow exhibits a layered internal structure in which a vast majority of sediment grains is transported through ...

Hydrodynamic modelling of overtopping flow over granular dikes
This paper presents a comparative analysis of the last advances in depth-averaged modelling of overtopping flow over granular dikes. Among the most relevant models in this field, three families of models are described: (i) non-hydrostatic models with ...

Is the critical Shields stress for incipient sediment motion dependent on channel-bed slope? [PDF]
Data from laboratory flumes and natural streams show that the critical Shields stress for initial sediment motion increases with channel slope, which indicates that particles of the same size are more stable on steeper slopes.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Bottom changes in coastal areas with complex shorelines [PDF]
A model for the sea-bottom change simulations in coastal areas with complex shorelines is proposed. In deep and intermediate water depths, the hydrodynamic quantities are calculated by numerically integrating the contravariant Boussinesq equations ...

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.
