Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Effects of bedding type and within-pen location on feedlot runoff

open access: yes, 2006
This two-year study examined the effects of two types of bedding materials (straw and wood chips) and two within-pen locations (bedding pack and pen floor) on various feedlot runoff parameters in southern Alberta, Canada, using a rainfall simulator ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Sources of Klebsiella and Raoultella species on dairy farms: Be careful where you walk

open access: yes, 2011
Klebsiella spp. are a common cause of mastitis, milk loss, and culling on dairy farms. Control of Klebsiella mastitis is largely based on prevention of exposure of the udder to the pathogen.

Comparison of microbiota of recycled manure solids and straw bedding used in dairy farms in eastern Canada

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2022
: Recycled manure solids (RMS) bedding is an alternative bedding option that is growing in popularity on Canadian dairy farms. However, the microbiological characteristics and production of RMS bedding are poorly documented under on-farm conditions in ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Measurement of Indoor Airborne Mite Allergens

open access: yesAllergology International, 2005
To evaluate the extent of exposure to airborne mite allergens, we measured major mite allergens in indoor environments with an immunoassay using allergen-specific antibodies. The levels of mite allergens trapped by the sampler were measured with a highly

Temperature effect on mode Ⅰ fracture behavior of tight sandstone

open access: yes矿业科学学报, 2022
The fracture complexity of tight sandstone could work to improve the efficiency of tight gas reservoir fracturing. In this paper, three-point bending loading tests was used to characterize the fracture behavior, mechanical properties, fracture path and ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Mycobacterium avium subsp. Paratuberculosis in Different Environmental Samples from a Dairy Goat Barn—Implications for Sampling Strategies for Paratuberculosis Diagnostic and Prevention

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Environmental samples are often used to classify the paratuberculosis status of cattle herds. The disease is caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), predominantly through oral ingestion during infancy.
