The Florida Bedding Plant Industry
1979Bedding plants constitute an increasingly important segment of Florida's complex of ornamental industries. A survey of traditional bedding plant growers showed more than 33 acres in the culture of these plants in 1975. Sales were estimated at $2.6 million in 1975, with a USDA report showing a rise to a $4 million level in 1978.

Rolling Beds After Precision Planting Enhances Bed Integrity at Harvest
Journal of Vegetable Crop Production, 1996The use of a spool-type roller immediately after precision planting resulted in a flatter, smoother bed surface that facilitates mechanical harvest of greens crops.
