Strategies for Assessing Post‐Wildfire Geomorphic Resilience in Semiarid Rivers
ABSTRACT We review and summarize diverse components of a catchment that can be monitored after wildfire to assess the geomorphic resilience of the river corridor in semiarid regions. We distinguish upland portions of river catchments from river corridors.

Sticky stuff : redefining bedform prediction in modern and ancient environments [PDF]
This work was funded by the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) under the COHBED project (NE/1027223/1). Paterson was funded by the Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland (MASTS).The dimensions and dynamics of subaqueous ...

This study examines the distribution and morphology of lakes under the Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) to investigate relationships with ice flow velocity, bedrock and basal thermal regime. Palaeo‐ice streams and lobes were important components of the LIS, and properties of lakes in those regions are quantified at high resolution.

Barchan Dunes Cruising Dune‐Size Obstacles
We investigate the behavior of subaqueous barchans reaching dune‐size obstacles by carrying out experiments where we varied the obstacle shape and size, the flow strength, and the grains' properties.

The last (Wisconsinan) glacial period was punctuated in North America by two glacial maxima, known as the Early and Late Wisconsinan glaciations. In Alaska, these maxima and their subsequent retreats have been the object of dating efforts to reconstruct local climatic events and compare them to global trends.

Development of supply-limited transport due to vertical sorting of a sand-gravel mixture [PDF]
If a partially mobile sediment is transported an immobile sediment layer can form below the bedforms. This immobile layer can cause a supply-limitation, i.e. the volume of mobile sediment on top of the layer available for transport becomes limited.

We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

We present a 25‐stage reconstruction of the ice‐flow pattern evolution of the Scandinavian Ice Sheet based on mapping and analysis of ~240 000 subglacial lineations and lineation fields across Norway, Sweden, Finland, and parts of NW Russia. Our reconstruction uses a glacial geomorphological inversion approach, in which we generated 611 individual ...
