Qualitative representation of behavior in the medical domain

Computers and Biomedical Research, 1988
In medical knowledge-based systems, there is a need for models of the human body which can predict and explain behavior based on qualitative information about the structure and behavior of the body. We present a framework for representing the structure and behavior of physical systems and apply it to the human cardiovascular system.

Representation and Behavior

2001
Keijzer provides a reconstruction of cognitive science's implicit representational explanation of behavior, which he calls Agent Theory (AT), the use of mind as a subpersonal mechanism of behavior. Representation is a fundamental concept within cognitive science.

A Lightweight Design of Malware Behavior Representation

2013 12th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications, 2013
To encode the malware behavior reports to accessible forms for further automatic analysis methods like data mining and machine, we proposed a lightweight design of malware behavior representation named BBIS (Bytes-Based Instruction Set), which can utilize least single-byte characters to represent the items in dynamic behavior reports.

Exploring Behavior Representation for Learning Analytics

Proceedings of the 2015 ACM on International Conference on Multimodal Interaction, 2015
Multimodal analysis has long been an integral part of studying learning. Historically multimodal analyses of learning have been extremely laborious and time intensive. However, researchers have recently been exploring ways to use multimodal computational analysis in the service of studying how people learn in complex learning environments. In an effort

Singular Linear Behaviors and Their AR-Representations

Mathematics of Control, Signals, and Systems, 2001
Very carefully the author introduces the notion of singular linear behavior and the notion of singular AR-model. The author shows that a certain canonical mapping from the set of equivalence classes of singular AR-models to the set of singular linear behavior is bijective.

The information framework for material behavior representation

2013 IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE), 2013
The paper provides details on the information structure and implementation of the material's behavioral model. An example has been included that illustrates the suggested approach to model the behavior. The intent of the paper is to provide an informational tool to the designers and other stakeholders at different lifecycle phases of a product to ...

Representation of Phase Equilibrium Behavior of Antibiotics

Biotechnology Progress, 1990
AbstractThe phase equilibrium behavior of biomolecules is important both in understanding the partition mechanisms and in the design and optimization of downstream recovery processes. Chen et al. (1989) proposed a molecular thermodynamic framework that successfully represents the liquid‐solid equilibrium behavior of amino acids and small peptides as ...

Exploring dimensions of health behaviors’ representations

Psychology & Health, 2020
Objectives: To discover underlying dimensions of health behavior representations and to suggest a new framework for their investigation. Methods: A total of 1709 participants rated 45 health behaviors on 14 theoretical constructs denoting features by which individuals can cognitively represent health behaviors.

Social Representations, Risk Behaviors and AIDS

The Spanish journal of psychology, 2009
This study's interest relies on adolescents' social representations of unprotected sex, more precisely on the relationship between the attitude towards the preservative and the reason attribution for its non use. 1386 secondary school students took part in the study, in the Brazilian cities of Florianópolis, Itajaí and Balneário Camboriú.

Formal, Holarchical Representation of Tactical Behaviors

2005 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2006
We address the formal representation of military tactical behaviors, in particular, the coordinated movements of experimental unmanned vehicles (XUVs). A unit of cooperating XUVs is considered a multiagent system on which the hierarchical structure of military command and control is imposed to yield a holarchy, a hierarchy of holons, where a holon is ...
