Efficient simulation of threshold behavior

Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Design, Analysis and Manufacturing, 2017
AbstractThe paper discusses a new method for the propagation of risk levels. This discretization takes place by considering the phase space of the state and its subdivision into boxes. In each time step, the method computes the probability of the state being in one box.

Video-driven group behavior simulation based on social comparison theory

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2018
In simulation studies of crowd behaviors, group behavioral modeling is the core issue of crowd simulation evacuation research. The core issue in group behavioral modeling is how to construct the group.

Simulating On-the-Road Behavior Using a Driving Simulator

2010 Third International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions, 2010
In this paper, we summarize the initial results with regard to the question to what extent driving simulators can be used to serve as cheap and easy realizable environments forsimulating on-the-road behavior. The aim of these first studies was to determine whether or not it is possible to replace real driving studies with experiments and furthermore ...

Behavioral fault simulation in VHDL

27th ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference, 1990
Two tools which facilitate a fault simulation of behavioral models described using the VHSIC hardware description language (VHDL) are presented. The first tool is the behavioral fault mapper (BFM). The BFM algorithm accepts a fault-free VHDL model and a fault-list of N faults from which it produces N faulty models.

Behavior authoring for crowd simulations

Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games, 2011
There has been growing academic and industry interest in the behavioral animation of autonomous actors in virtual worlds. However, it remains a considerable challenge to automatically generate complicated interactions between multiple actors in a customizable way with minimal user specification.

Nonlinear simulation of vertical behavior of railway fastening system

, 2020
Rail fastening system plays an important role in safety of railway tracks. Despite proven nonlinear mechanical behavior of this system, it has been simulated as a linear spring-dashpot element in the current practice.

Simulations of the Adsorption Behavior of Dendrimers

2014
Using Monte Carlo simulations we study adsorption of dendrimers with flexible spacers onto a flat surface in a wide range of molecular weight, \(N\), generation number, \(G\), spacer length, \(S\), and the monomer-surface interaction strength parameter, \(\tau \). Our calculations indicate that for large values of \(N\) the dendrimers exist in three \(\

Simulation of pedestrian behavior in intermodal facilities

Proceedings of the 2010 Spring Simulation Multiconference, 2010
Planning pedestrian environments requires that designers understand how pedestrians interact with their environment and one another. With improved knowledge, the design and planning of pedestrian areas can provide improvements in safety, throughput, and utility.

Behavioral-level fault simulation

IEEE Design & Test of Computers, 1988
An approach to fault simulation is presented in which behavioral fault models represent complex failures in VLSI designs. Errors are deliberately introduced into the description of a design that contains no faults. These errors can be fault values of variables that represent state or timing parameters, a faulty description that is substituted for part ...
