Individual patterns and synchrony of heart rate variability in adolescent patients with borderline personality psychopathology and their mothers: a case–control study

open access: yesBorderline Personality Disorder and Emotion Dysregulation
Background In adolescent Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), interactions with caregivers often provoke dysregulation. Vagally-mediated heart rate variability (HRV), a physiological marker of regulatory capacities, shows alterations in BPD. Studies on

Hierarchical neurobehavioral model reveals that shared flexibility, not individual stability, supports rhythmic coordination

open access: yesNeuroImage
Interpersonal coordination requires balancing individual control with interaction-derived synergy, yet it remains unclear when neural coupling contributes beyond behavior.

Observer‐Based Adaptive Event‐Triggered Tracking Control for Fuzzy TS Systems With Premise Mismatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents an adaptive logistic event‐triggered observer‐based tracking controller for Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems under constrained inputs and network delays. Leveraging a hybrid LMI and Secretary Bird Optimization approach, this strategy significantly minimizes communication overhead and computational burden while ensuring optimal reference ...

Interpersonal coordination in communication: effects of alignment in multiple modalities on objective and subjective task outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionPrevious research has shown that during interactions, partners adapt to (imitate, synchronize, complement) each other’s behavior: a phenomenon often termed interpersonal coordination (IC).

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Measuring Up to Reality: Null Models and Analysis Simulations to Study Parental Coordination Over Provisioning Offspring

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2019
Behavioral coordination when provisioning offspring, through alternation and synchrony, has been hypothesized to influence rearing success. However, studying coordination at the pair level presents two analytical difficulties.

How interpersonal synchrony facilitates early prosocial behavior

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Psychology, 2018
When infants and children affiliate with others, certain cues may direct their social efforts to 'better' social partners. Interpersonal synchrony, or when two or more people move together in time, can be one such cue. In adults, experiencing interpersonal synchrony encourages affiliative behaviors.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Temporal changes in behavior during the group spawning event of Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii)

open access: yesScientific Reports
Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii) spawn in large aggregations, releasing gametes individually. It is unclear the mechanism of group spawning such as behavioral synchrony and persistence on fine scale due to the difficulty of direct observation.

Pasture Access Affects Behavioral Indicators of Wellbeing in Dairy Cows

open access: yesAnimals, 2019
Dairy cows are increasingly housed indoors, either year-round or for long stretches over the winter and around parturition. This may create health and welfare issues. In cattle, lying and walking are highly motivated, and herds synchronize lying behavior
