Auditory feedback in learning and maintenance of vocal behaviour

Nature Reviews Neuroscience, 2000
Songbirds are one of the best-studied examples of vocal learners. Learning of both human speech and birdsong depends on hearing. Once learned, adult song in many species remains unchanging, suggesting a reduced influence of sensory experience. Recent studies have revealed, however, that adult song is not always stable, extending our understanding of ...

Locus of control and maintenance of behavioural therapy skills

British Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1982
Thirty stutterers were treated in an intensive behavioural therapy programme in which speech and behavioural skills are taught. Can the theory of planned behaviour predict maintenance of a frequently repeated behaviour?

Psychology, Health & Medicine, 2007

Explaining disrepair: Examining owner occupiers’ repair and maintenance behaviour

Housing Studies, 1996

There has been considerable debate about the causes of this disrepair, which is directly relevant to the design of policy solutions which are intended to tackle the problem. This paper develops an analytical framework in which the fact that housing provides both consumption ...
