This study sequenced and annotated the complete 17,230 bp mitochondrial genome of Ovophis makazayazaya, which contains 13 protein‐coding genes (PCGs), 2 rRNAs, 22 tRNAs, and a D‐loop region, with a significant AT bias (57.2%). Phylogenetic analyses confirmed its placement within Crotalinae, and all PCGs showed evidence of purifying selection (Ka/Ks < 1)

Abstract The pathological expansion of the polyglutamine (polyQ) repeat within the first exon of huntingtin (Httex1) protein is a defining hallmark of Huntington's disease (HD).
