Query DAGs: A Practical Paradigm for Implementing Belief-Network Inference
We describe a new paradigm for implementing inference in belief networks, which consists of two steps: (1) compiling a belief network into an arithmetic expression called a Query DAG (Q-DAG); and (2) answering queries using a simple evaluation algorithm.

Belief revision, belief merging and voting
In belief revision, an agent is faced with the problem of choosing between several alternatives when trying to restore con- sistency to theory. Ideally, the choice process is conducted in a way that verifies a number of fairness principles. On the other hand, be- lief merging concerns with the problem of determining a group’s be- liefs from individual ...

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...

Nonmanipulable Bayesian Testing [PDF]
This paper considers the problem of testing an expert who makes probabilistic forecasts about the outcomes of a stochastic process. I show that, under general conditions on the tester's prior, a likelihood test can distinguish informed from uninformed ...
