Discrimination of the Bell states of qudits by means of linear optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The question of the discrimination of the Bell states of two qudits (i.e., d-dimensional quantum systems) by means of passive linear optical elements and conditional measurements is discussed.

Effects of Biological Sex and Age on Cerebrospinal Fluid Markers—A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis is a key diagnostic tool for neurological diseases. To date, only a few studies have investigated in larger cohorts the effect of age and biological sex on diagnostic markers extracted from CSF. Methods For this retrospective observational study, 4163 CSF findings (2012–2020) were evaluated.

Short-distance quantum teleportation scheme for arbitrary unknown three-dimensional two-qutrit states

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban
A new scheme for short-distance quantum teleportation of an arbitrary unknown three-dimensional two-qutrit state is proposed, utilizing a three-dimensional Bell-state and a ground-state auxiliary qutrit as quantum channel. In this scheme, both the sender

Development of Quantum Private Queries Protocol on Collective-Dephasing Noise Channel

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Quantum private queries can commonly protect important information in a good many of domains, such as finance, business, military, which use quantum effects to achieve unprecedented classical private queries. However, quantum state can be easily affected

Hyperentanglement-assisted Bell-state analysis [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2003
We propose a simple scheme for complete Bell-state measurement of photons using hyperentangled states - entangled in multiple degrees of freedom. In addition to hyperentanglement, our scheme requires only linear optics and single photon detectors, and is realizable with current technology.

Distribution of Bell inequality violation vs. multiparty quantum correlation measures

open access: yes, 2015
Violation of a Bell inequality guarantees the existence of quantum correlations in a quantum state. A pure bipartite quantum state, having nonvanishing quantum correlation, always violates a Bell inequality. Such correspondence is absent for multipartite

Photon Sorting, Efficient Bell Measurements and a Deterministic CZ Gate using a Passive Two-level Nonlinearity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Although the strengths of optical non-linearities available experimentally have been rapidly increasing in recent years, significant challenges remain to using such non-linearities to produce useful quantum devices such as efficient optical Bell state ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Entangled Coherent State Qubits in an Ion Trap [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We show how entangled qubits can be encoded as entangled coherent states of two-dimensional centre-of-mass vibrational motion for two ions in an ion trap.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.
