PyrAtes: Modular Organic Salts with Large Stokes Shifts for Fluo-rescence Microscopy. [PDF]
Angew Chem Int Ed EnglWe report here the discovery of a powerful novel fluorophore class with an imidazo[1,2‐a]pyridinium core, termed PyrAtes. The synthesis was achieved in a single step, demonstrating a wide array of substrates with Stokes shifts as large as 240 nm, while also reaching NIR−I emissions at λmax up to 720 nm.

Grazing in the dark: A behavioural adjustment in a population of the black sea urchin Arbacia lixula. [PDF]
Ecol Evol, 2023 Here, we provide the first experimental evidence of an adjustment to a predominant nocturnal behaviour in a population of Arbacia lixula. We suggest that the observed behaviour was triggered by our experimental manipulations and was a response to the presence of dead conspecifics and small predator fishes attracted by the urchin culling.
