Research on bending-torsional behaviors of steel-concrete composite beam with corrugated steel webs

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2022
To further reveal the cracking mechanism and the bending-torsional failure mode caused by the bending-torsional behaviors of the steel-concrete composite beam with corrugated steel webs, model experiments were conducted on five test beams under the ...

Reconfigurable Three‐Dimensional Superconducting Nanoarchitectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D superconducting nanostructures offer new possibilities for emergent physical phenomena. However, fabricating complex geometries remains challenging. Here 3D nanoprinting of complex 3D superconducting nanoarchitectures is established. As well as propagating superconducting vortices in 3D, anisotropic superconducting properties with geometric ...

Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Analysis of Bolt Bending in Preloaded Bolted Joints

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2018
Classical analysis methods are applied to show how flexural deflections due to shear strain in the flange pack produce bending moments and tensile loads on bolts within preloaded bolted joints. It was found that in joints made with long bolts these loads

BENDING ANALYSIS OF CIRCULAR PLATES

open access: yes, 2022
Axisymmetric bending response of shear deformable circular plates under the action of uniform transverse pressure is investigated numerically. Isotropic, transversely isotropic, and orthotropic plates are studied in this computational study. It is assumed that the plate is resting on a four-parameter elastic foundation.

Modelling of SFRC using inverse finite element analysis

open access: yes, 2006
A method of inverse finite element analysis is used to determine the constitutive relationship of SFRC in tension, using primary experimental data. Based on beam bending test results and results from pull-out tests, an attempt is made to explain the ...

Z‐Scheme Water Splitting Systems Based on Solid‐State Electron Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the latest advances in Z‐scheme overall water splitting (OWS) systems for solar hydrogen production. These systems consist of suspended or immobilized hydrogen evolution photocatalysts (HEPs) and oxygen evolution photocatalysts (OEPs).

Interplay between bending and stretching in carbon nanoribbons

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the bending properties of carbon nanoribbons by combining continuum elasticity theory and tight-binding atomistic simulations. First, we develop a complete analysis of a given bended configuration through continuum mechanics.
