CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Case Reports: Management Challenges in Pediatric Germ Cell Tumors

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2021
Germ cell tumors in infants are most frequently extragonadal, benign, and amenable to surgical resection. An unusual feature of germ cell tumors is the potential coexistence of malignant with benign disease which makes it possible for patients with ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

The Appearance of Benign Primary Bone Tumors on SPECT/CT

open access: yes, 2023
Although bone scintigraphy has a low degree of specificity, it is a sensitive method for detecting abnormal bone mineralization. When used on cancer patients as well as those being evaluated for benign bone diseases, SPECT/CT has greatly increased the ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Intravoxel incoherent motion combined with conventional MRI for the differentiation of benign, intermediate, and malignant fibrous soft-tissue tumors

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundFibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumors are among the most common soft-tissue tumors (STTs) encountered clinically. Several magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features associated with malignant tumors overlap with benign tumors, making differential ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Leiomyoma of the epididymis treated with partial epididymectomy

open access: yesUrology Annals, 2014
Tumors of the epididymis are very rare, they are both primary and secondary and whether the benign or malignant. Adenomatoid tumors and leiomyoma are the most frequently diagnosed benign tumors of the epididymis. Leiomyomas are benign, often bulky tumors
