A Sustainable and Low‐Cost Zn‐Lignosulfonate Redox Flow Battery

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
A cost‐effective Zn/lignosulfonate (NaLS) hybrid flow battery using 20 kDa NaLS delivers 3.52 Ah L−1 at 30 mM, with an average discharge voltage of 1.01 V, outperforming smaller NaLS. This sustainable design leverages industrial and bio‐based lignosulfonates, cheaper size exclusion membrane, and abundant Zn for ecofriendly, scalable energy storage ...

Integrative Multi‐Omics Mendelian Randomization Highlights Causal Autophagy‐Related Genes for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
Multi‐omics Mendelian randomization reveals causal roles of four autophagy‐related genes (FNBP1, IDUA, C9orf72, USP35) in ALS risk, with FNBP1 and USP35 increasing risk and IDUA and C9orf72 protective, shedding light on autophagy‐mediated mechanisms and offering early evidence of novel therapeutic targets for ALS.

Decoding Food Labels: How and Why Labels Influence Consumers' Responses

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, Volume 43, Issue 4, Page 871-885, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Consumers make hundreds of food‐related decisions daily, often relying on labels to guide their choices. While extensive research has examined whether food labels are effective and which label types outperform others, limited work has explained how and why labels influence consumers' responses.

NCY‐1 β‐Lactamase Activity Correlates With Antimicrobial Susceptibility of a Clinical Strain of Nocardia cyriacigeorgica

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study shows a strong correlation between the β‐lactam susceptibility profile of a clinical isolate of Nocardia cyriacigeorgica and the activity of its β‐lactamase, NCY‐1. Inhibitors of NCY‐1 reduce the minimum inhibitory concentration of amoxicillin.
