Bioaccumulation of 137Cs by benthic plants and macroinvertebrates
Abstract 137Cs activity concentrations were determined in macrophytes and macrozoobenthic organisms from the southern Baltic Sea. Cesium isotope content was analysed in macroalgae species (green, red and brown algae representatives) and in some species of vascular plants.

ABSTRACT The integrated analysis of lithofacies, mineralogy and geochemistry of the hemipelagic marine succession exposed in La Cerradura section (South‐Iberian Palaeomargin) provides new information to characterise the palaeoenvironmental conditions during the latest Pliensbachian to early Toarcian, including the Jenkyns Event.

Spatial and temporal patterns in the macroinvertebrate communities in streams
PhDMy research looked for evidence of community persistence in two suites of sites. Twenty-nine stream sites were in the Ashdown Forest of southern England and twelve streams which form part of the United Kingdom Acid Waters Monitoring Network ...

Trophic Redundancy and the Hidden Dietary Overlap Between Native and Invasive Stream Fishes
ABSTRACT Biological invasions introduce non‐native species into natural ecosystems, often reshaping localcommunities and altering trophic interactions. In freshwater environments, such invasions can intensify resource use and threaten native fish diversity.

WISER Deliverable D3.3-2: The importance of invertebrate spatial and temporal variation for ecological status classification for European lakes [PDF]
European lakes are affected by many human induced disturbances. In principle, ecological theories predict that the structure and functioning of benthic invertebrate assemblage (one of the Biological Quality Elements following the Water Framework ...

Bubbling trouble: Effects of supersaturated water on benthic macroinvertebrates [PDF]
The saturation of total dissolved gases (TDG) in water remains around 100%. Certain circumstances can lead to TDG values exceeding 100%, resulting in TDG supersaturation (TDGS).
