INFLUENCE OF SYNTHESIS PARAMETERS ON MORPHOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF ALUMINUM(III)-PILLARED BENTONITES

open access: yesScientific Study & Research: Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Industry, 2016
Al-pillared interlayered clays (Al-PILCs) have been prepared from Romanian natural calcium bentonite (Orasu Nou deposit) and the effect of some parameters on the morphological properties has been investigated.

Rheological properties of palygorskite–bentonite and sepiolite–bentonite mixed clay suspensions

open access: yesApplied Clay Science, 2014
Abstract This study examines the influence of layer charge and smectite content on the rheological properties of mixed bentonite–palygorskite suspensions. Eight bentonite samples containing smectite with layer charge ranging between 0.38 and 0.54 e/huc were used to prepare 5% w/v mixed palygorskite–bentonite aqueous suspension at pH 7.

Polypropylene-clay composite prepared from Indian bentonite

open access: yesBulletin of Materials Science, 2008
In the present work, a set of experimental polypropylene (PP) clay composites containing pristine bentonite clay of Indian origin has been prepared and then characterized. The polymer clay composites are processed by solution mixing of polypropylene with bentonite clay using a solvent xylene and high speed electric stirrer at a temperature around 130°C

Investigation of bentonite clay minerals as a natural adsorbents for Cs-137 real radioactive wastewater treatment

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment
In this work, the removal of the radioactive element Cs-137 from actual radioactive wastewater was studied by batch adsorption studies. To lower the dangers of radioactive contamination, bentonite, a naturally occurring clay mineral, was used as an ...
