Eine photochemische Methode für die Semipinakol‐Umlagerung von nichtaktivierten Allylalkoholen wird beschrieben. Die Reaktion erfolgt unter milden Bedingungen und erlaubt die Umlagerung sowohl aliphatischer als auch aromatischer Reste, um eine Vielzahl von α,α‐disubstituierten Ketonen zu bilden.

Die Modellierung und Simulation einer chemischen Gasphaseninfiltration (CVI) wurde mithilfe des Simulationsprogramms COMSOL Multiphysics erfolgreich durchgeführt. Hierzu wurden poröse Kohlenstoffgerüste unter Verwendung von Silicagel als Templat verwendet. Die Kohlenstoffabscheidung innerhalb des Templats konnte vorausgesagt werden.
