On Distances in Benzenoid Systems

Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences, 1996
We show that the molecular graph G of a benzenoid hydrocarbon admits an isometric embedding into the Cartesian product of three trees T1, T2, and T3 defined by three directions of the host hexagonal grid. Namely, to every vertex v of G one can associate an ordered triplet (v1, v2, v3) with vi being a vertex of Ti (i = 1, 2, 3), such that the graph ...

ChemInform Abstract: Polycyclic Benzenoid Systems.

ChemInform, 1989
AbstractSuperposition of significant electron structures is used to estimate the mesomerism stabilization of polycyclic benzenoid systems by consideration of the number of Kekule structures and of benzenoid interactions between them.

The K-resonant benzenoid systems

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1991
Abstract For a given positive integer k , a benzenoid system is k -resonant if all of its i (1,2, ·, k ) disjoint hexagons are mutually resonant. We give several criteria (from topological aspect) to determine whether or not a given benzenoid system is k -resonant ( i ⩾2), and show that a benzenoid system is k -resonant ( k ⩾3) if, and only if,

Construction of 3-resonant benzenoid systems

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1992
Abstract A systematic method of constructing all 3-resonant benzenoid systems (in which any i disjoint hexagons (i = 1, 2, 3) are mutually resonant) is presented. Based on this method, an efficient procedure (from the computing point of view) of drawing a Clar formula for a 3-resonant benzenoid system is given.

Pericondensed All-Benzenoids and Related Systems

1988
For a definition of all-benzenoids it is referred to Paragraph 2.2.8. Catacondensed all-benzenoids are treated in Section 6.5. Two classes of (generally pericondensed) all-benzenoids are found in CHART 12-VIII.

Graph generation: quasicrystal-like benzenoid systems

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions, 1993
An equivalence relation is defined on the terminal rings of alternant and non-alternant hydrocarbons including catacondensed benzenoid systems with zero, one and two branched hexagons, benzocyclobutadienes, benzocy-cloctatetraenes and certain pentalene derivatives.

Reversed degree-based topological indices for benzenoid systems

2021
Summary: Topological indices are numerical values that correlate the chemical structures with physical properties. In this article, we compute some reverse topological indices namely reverse Atom-bond connectivity index and reverse Geometric-arithmetic index for four different types of Benzenoid systems.

Zagreb Connection Indices for Some Benzenoid Systems

Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, 2020
A benzenoid is a class of chemical compounds with at least one benzene ring(hexagon as a graph) and resonance bonds in the benzene ring give increased stability in benzenoids.

Computing the Number of Matchings in Catacondensed Benzenoid Systems

MATCH - Communications in Mathematical and in Computer Chemistry, 2022
The Hosoya index of is defined as the total number of independent edge sets (number of -matchings ) in . The Hosoya index is one of the most important topological indices in the field of mathematical chemistry because of its relationship with several thermodynamic properties.
