Tetra-μ-benzoato-κ4O:O′;κ3O:O,O′;κ3O,O′:O′-bis[(benzoato-κ2O,O′)(1,10-phenanthroline-κ2N,N′)terbium(III)] benzoic acid disolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Tb2(C7H5O2)6(C12H8N2)2]·2C7H6O2, consists of one-half of the complex molecule, which lies on a crystallographic inversion centre, and one benzoic acid solvent molecule.

Evaluation of biodegradation kinetic constants for aromatic compounds by means of aerobic batch experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Kinetics of aerobic biodegradation have been investigated for twenty aromatic species using sludges collected from the aeration basin of municipal sewage treatment plants. The reproducibility of the results is tested with respect to the sludges period of

Inert Catalytic Sites Unlocked by Micropollutants for Rapid Water Decontamination with Near‐Complete Chemical Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Micropollutants can act as molecular triggers that activate a newly designed and chemically inert Fenton‐like PKU‐24 catalyst for on‐demand singlet oxygen generation from peroxymonosulfate (PMS), enabling nearly complete peroxide utilization and selective micropollutant removal from complex real‐world wastewater.

Spectrophotometric determination of benzoic acid based on inhibitive effect on tyrosinase enzyme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A simple method for detection of benzoic acid in food products has been developed based on inhibitive effect on tyrosinase enzyme. A mixture of tyrosinase, phenol and 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone (MBTH) gave a maroon coloured solution which was

The pharmacokinetics of anthocyanins and their metabolites in humans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background and Purpose: Anthocyanins are phytochemicals with reported vasoactive bioactivity. However, given their instability at neutral pH, they are presumed to undergo significant degradation and subsequent biotransformation.

Electronic Structure Modulation Induced by Asymmetric Cu─Ni Centers in a π‐Conjugated Triazine MOF

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A π‐conjugated H3TATB‐based asymmetric bimetallic CuNi‐MOF was developed as an efficient electrocatalyst for alkaline hydrogen evolution. Benefiting from synergistic Cu–Ni interactions, enhanced charge transfer, and stabilized active sites, CuNi‐MOF delivers superior HER performance with low overpotential, improved kinetics, and 24 h durability.
