Oligomeric benzoin photoinitiators

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2002
AbstractNovel oligomeric photoinitiators were synthesised by reacting benzoin with isophorone diisocyanate‐terminated oligomers of dihydroxy‐terminated depolymerization products of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET was depolymerized by ethylene glycol (EG), hexylene glycol (HG), polyethylene glycol 10 000 (PEG), and α, ω‐dihydroxy poly(dimethyl ...

Chemo- and Diastereoselective N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Cross-Benzoin Reactions Using N-Boc-α-amino Aldehydes.

Organic Letters, 2016
N-Boc-α-amino aldehydes are shown to be excellent partners in cross-benzoin reactions with aliphatic or heteroaromatic aldehydes. The chemoselectivity of the reaction and the facial selectivity on the amino aldehyde allow cross-benzoin products to be ...

Comparative Study of Nucleation by Different Alcoholic Solutions of Benzoin, and Benzoin Dust

Journal of Atmospheric Chemistry, 2006
Nucleation properties of different alcoholic solutions of Benzoin and Benzoin dust have been studied by varying the seeding temperature in a laboratory Cold Chamber. In the present study, three different alcoholic solutions are being used and these are due to the standard Ethyl alcohol, one higher alcohol i.e. Isopropyle alcohol and one lower alcohol i.

Benzoin and aza-benzoin

2014
The benzoin condensation consists of the addition of an acyl anion equivalent to a carbonyl derivative to afford an α-hydroxyketone. When the electrophilic partner is replaced by an imine, the analogous aza-benzoin reaction results in the formation of an α-aminoketone.
