On the presence of a clorgyline resistant benzylamine oxidase activity in mouse kidney

Pharmacological Research Communications, 1988
In the crude homogenates of three different strains (C3H, Swiss, C57b) of mouse kidney the exposure to a millimolar concentration of clorgyline reveals a benzylamine oxidative deaminating activity that is due to a clorgyline resistant amine oxidase (CRAO).

Pyridoxal phosphate as a constituent of the histaminase (benzylamine oxidase) of pig plasma

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B. Biological Sciences, 1965
Abstract The histaminase (‘benzylamine oxidase’) of pig plasma has recently been crystallized and a description is given of some of the physical and chemical properties of the pure preparation of the oxidase. The fluorescence of the enzyme is typical of a protein containing tryptophan.

Kinetics of the Interaction between Pig‐Plasma Benzylamine Oxidase and Substrate

European Journal of Biochemistry, 1973
The rapid absorbance changes in the visible region observed on mixing pig plasma benzylamine oxidase with substrate under anaerobic conditions are due to reduction of a single chromophore, centered around 470 nm, in a single reaction phase reflecting a rate‐limiting combination of substrate to the enzyme.

Inactivation of mitochondrial monoamine oxidase B by methylthio-substituted benzylamines

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2003
Mitochondrial monoamine oxidase was inactivated by o-mercaptobenzylamine (1) and o- (2) and p-methylthiobenzylamine (5). Experiments were carried out to provide evidence for possible mechanisms of inactivation. The corresponding o- (3) and p-hydroxybenzylamine (4) are not inactivators.

Benzylamine Oxidase Activity in Rat Embryo and Placenta at Organogenesis

Enzyme, 2017
Benzylamine oxidase, characterized by its sensitivity to semi-carbazide (1 X 10-^2 mol/1) inhibition and its insensitivity to deprenyl (4 X 10-^4 mol/1) inhibition, is present in rat placenta during days 10-15 of the gestation period and in the embryo at days 11-15.

[Soluble benzylamine oxidase from aorta].

Biokhimiia (Moscow, Russia), 1981
A new method for purification of soluble benzylamine oxidase from bovine aorta with specific activity of more than 100 units is described. The optical and magnetic properties of the enzyme have been studied. The enzyme contains type II copper, the environment of which is sensitive to pH, substrate, inhibitors and chelators. An addition of substrate and

Benzylamine oxidase activity in spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Research communications in chemical pathology and pharmacology, 1985
Benzylamine oxidase (BzAO) activity was assayed in aorta, atria and serum from 20 week old spontaneously hypertensive (SH) rats and Wistar Kyoto (WKY) control rats. Atrial BzAO activity was reduced by 50% in SH rats compared with WKY control. Aorta and serum BzAO activity did not differ significantly between the two groups. Thus, BzAO activity of serum

[Monoamine oxidase (XXXVI). Characteristics of benzylamine oxidase in the dog serum].

Nihon yakurigaku zasshi. Folia pharmacologica Japonica, 1976
Enzymic properties of monoamine oxidase (MAO) in dog serum were studied and the following results were obtained. Some of enzymic properties of MAO in dog serum differed from that of mitochondrial MAO. When dog serum was fractionated by ammonium sulfate, proteins were concentrated in two fractions, such as 25 approximately 33% and 67 approximately 80 ...
