Two new prenylated flavonoids from the roots of Berberis thunbergii DC.

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2017
Two new prenylated flavonoids, thunbergiols A (1) and B (2), along with three known compounds, chrysin (3), quercetin (4) and berberine (5) were obtained from the methanolic extract of roots of Berberis thunbergii DC. MS, NMR and other spectroscopic techniques were employed for their structural characterisation.

The content of photosynthetic pigments in leaves of Berberis thunbergii forms in the Kherson region

open access: yesCHORNOMORSKI BOTANICAL JOURNAL, 2020

Molecular Identification of Japanese Barberry (Berberis thunbergii) Cultivars Using Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism [PDF]

open access: goldHortScience, 2007
Plants of the genus Berberis have been forbidden entry in Canada because common barberry (Berberis vulgaris) is an alternate host for black stem rust of wheat. Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii), an ornamental shrub appreciated for its hardiness and attractiveness, is generally considered immune to rust.

Protective Effects of Vaccinium arctostaphylos L., Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea Chenault, Elaeagnus angustifolia L. and Launaea acanthodes (Boiss.) O. Kuntze against Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulcers in Rats

open access: greenJournal of Medicinal Plants, 2013
Background: Data suggest that V. arctostaphylos, B. thunbergii var. atropurpurea, E. angustifolia and L. acanthodes may prevent gastric ulcers induced by Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Objective: To explore the ulcer-protective potential
