A note on Bernoulli's principle and probability dominance

open access: closedJournal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1985
The concept of \(\beta\)-dominance proposed by \textit{C. Wrather} and \textit{P. L. Yu} [ibid. 36, 315-334 (1982; Zbl 0452.90007)] is shown to be not equivalent to that of expected utilities, which depend on the chosen alternative and the not chosen alternative.

Teaching Bernoulli's Principle through Demonstrations

open access: closedScience Activities: Classroom Projects and Curriculum Ideas, 2011
ABSTRACT One proven strategy to help students make sense of abstract concepts is to sequence instruction so students have exploratory opportunities to investigate science before being introduced to new science explanations (Abraham and Renner 1986; Renner, Abraham, and Birnie 1988).

Pressure Energy and Bernoulli's Principle

open access: closedAmerican Journal of Physics, 1952
An effort is made to show that the concept of pressure in an incompressible fluid as energy per unit volume possessed by the fluid is an erroneous one, and that Bernoulli's equation is not to be interpreted as a statement of conservation of energy, but rather as a relation between pressure, velocity, and height in the gravitational field.

SIMULATING NETWORK STRUCTURES USING BERNOULLI'S PRINCIPLE

open access: closedAdvances in Complex Systems, 2012
Using the fact that connections between vertices of a network often represent directed and weighted flows, we apply hydraulic principles to develop novel insights into network structure and growth. We develop a network model based on Bernoulli's principle and use it to analyze changes in network properties.
