The Bernoulli Principle and Smoke Control

Vernacular Architecture, 2005
This paper attempts to explain the Bernoulli Principle and to discuss its effect on the removal of smoke from the medieval open hall. To this end louvres and smoke vents, the cross passage, and the orientation of the house are considered.

Galilean-Invariant Expression for Bernoulli’s Equation

, 2020
The Bernoulli principle is one of the basic and most famous concepts in fluid mechanics, and the related equation is an extremely useful and effective tool in the solution of a wide range o...

The Bernoulli Principle and the Dirichlet Problem [PDF]

open access: possible, 1977
Let M be a class of lotteries where a lottery is defined by a probability measure μ on the real line R. Among all preference relations ≲ on the lotteries in M. the Bernoulli principle singles out those which are based on expected utility in the sense that $$\mu \lesssim v$$ if and only if $$\int {{\text{ud}}} \mu \leqslant \int {{\text{ud}}v

Measurement of Carotid Bifurcation Pressure Gradients Using the Bernoulli Principle

Cardiovascular Surgery, 1996
Current randomized prospective studies suggest that the degree of carotid stenosis is a critical element in deciding whether surgical or medical treatment is appropriate. Of potential interest is the actual pressure drop caused by the blockage, but no direct non-invasive means of quantifying the hemodynamic consequences of carotid artery stenoses ...

History of the Bernoulli Principle

2019
Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782), son of Johann Bernoulli (1667-1748), spent seven or eight years as a professor of mathematics in St. Petersburg. He started writing Hydrodynamics in 1729 during his period in Russia and an un-completed manuscript was left at St. Petersburg when he returned to Basel four years later.

Bernoulli, Harsanyi, and the Principle of Temporal Good

1992
Take a person who has preferences between uncertain prospects. Then between the prospects, there is a preference relation: the person prefers _ to _ or is indifferent between them, where the blanks are to be filled in with prospects. Expected utility theory lays down a number of axioms for this relation.
